Dear Reader, as you know from our pieces, at times, we refer to our unpublished book that we feel will help America, and possibly the world. You see that we do not clutter our page with ads. Money is a means and not a goal. We seek to make our democracy better. With that said, our founder, John Lipareli has his first book published. He is trying to make a name for himself that can help get his political and economic work a reality. You can buy at Amazon Books. It is called, "The Legend of the Afghan Hound." It is general and family reading. Kids 9 to 15 will love the action adventure as well as pet lovers and history buffs. The sweeping saga begins in ancient Egypt in a time of anxiety and war and ends in Bethlehem with hope and love. Adults will gravitate to the theme of "love in action." By that, I mean the sacrifices that we make. It is a Christmas classic and makes an excellent gift. Please, support his work. Thank you.
It is In and Out...
...not odds and ends. The US Supreme Court nullified President Trump's tariffs. They reminded him that the constitution says that Congress decides things of the purse. I never understood why the president didn't just submit a bill to Congress for tariffs? The Republicans control Congress. Then again, I know why. Each representative will be on record and that could cause a reelection problem. Anyway, it is the biggest story of the year so far. Immediately, after the verdict, the president instituted a new, 10% tariff to all nations. Then, the next day (Saturday) he raised it to 15% under laws like the 1974 Tariff Act and later, the 1977 addition to it. It allows the president up to 5-months (150 days) to raise a tariff without Congress approval. The drama continues as the "Out" is back "In."
Meanwhile,
The president has a deficit problem and lawsuits about the tariff that now needs refunds to suppliers. His new tariff will cut the cost to the deficit, but it grew under deficits and now, could explode. It grows by $6.4billion EVERY DAY. It is now 13% of the budget and it will reach $39 billion by April. This is doo-do land. In a related aspect, trade deficits. Under Biden, his last year saw a trade deficit of $903billion. Under Trump's first year, the trade deficit with tariffs was $901billion. He can no longer brag or lie about the stats. By the way, do not expect prices to be lower. These greedy crooks will keep the higher prices and put their newfound riches into company profits to which the greedier CEOs will pocket.
Desperation?
Google has turned to issuing a bond to cover their data centers and AI program ($20B). Get this! It is a 100-year bond that is available in the UK and Switzerland. In another footnote, the company says that it will create a subsea cable to India. It will connect to Singapore, Australia and South Africa from the US.
Congrats to Singapore
No, it is not a gold metal from the Olympics, but it is definitely a "gold" achievement. The city/state raised its solar installation goal by 50% after it achieved its previous target. By the way, President Trump, solar was a US invention that we failed as a nation to grab with both fists. Guess who took it over? China.
EVs
China, the world's largest seller of EV vehicles has stated that it will look into its manufacturing. The race to sell the lowest price EV has companies selling below cost. We already knew this, but now, China says no EV producer will sell below cost. Just like the BS from our unemployment agency, we do not believe. In a related aspect, Ford may have saved their EV production with a partnership with a leading Chinese firm. We hope for the best. One door for market niche is Bidirectional charging. This gives power for power-outs. You can hook up your home to your EV if it has V2H. This is great in severe weather.
Tesla
is building a solar cell plant to make solar panals. We like it. In a related point, solar plug-ins is the newest use for the power source. You can install smaller units on balconies and get this. You can getting working by plugging into your room outlet. Of course, you need local approval, but we like this positive use for clean energy. Peace.
Alert! ------------ News ---------------
President Trump gave his State of the Union Address last night. He used many examples that worked on our emotions. Some were great and some not like seeking to shame the Democrats. In our view he did nothing to show new direction, ideas or vision for our country. There is nothing to report.
